• "I'm a Tarheel!" Video Deadline

  **Seeking UNC alumni still serving in uniform... active duty and drilling Reservists.

   UNC Football wants short "shout out" videos of UNC alumni in uniform for their Military Appreciation Day FB game vs Stanford (on 8Nov).

  The more interesting backdrop, the better. A scene from your currently deployed general location (follow force protection policy) or standing in front of cool military aircraft, vehicles, weapons, equipment, etc. is best.

   A few guidelines for making your video:

  1. If recorded using a smartphone, the phone should be held horizontally (landscape mode).
  2. Try to film in the most quiet location since ambient background noise does not sound good on the Kenan Stadium jumbotron.
  3. Sample Script: State Your Name, Rank, Graduation year, current general location, then sign off with “and I’m a Tar Heel!”
     1. Example: “My name is Sergeant John Doe, Class of 2002, deployed to the Strait of Hormuz, and I’m a Tar Heel!”

  The UNC NROTC Battalion presents an opportunity for you to have a personal impact on the development of our future officer corps!  The battalion will host alumni for small group leadership discussions with midshipmen at 1345 on 13 November 2025, followed by a social.
  
  This event is the day before the North Carolina NROTC Consortium ball celebrating the 250th birthday of the Navy and Marine Corps.

  Who: Active duty or retired UNC NROTC alumni, Navy and Marines

  What: Round table leadership discussions between 5-7 midshipmen and 1-2 alumni using a structured list of questions; followed by food and drinks

  Where: Naval Armory, UNC Campus

  When: 13 November 2025. 1345 - 1600

  Why: To deepen connections between current midshipmen and the Alumni Association while creating mentorship opportunities
