As currently structured, the Association presents up to three $1,000 scholarships to selected Midshipman
Third Class (sophomore) recipients. The recipients are selected by a committee, two members of which are appointed by the
Commanding Officer of the NROTC Consortium, and one member of that committee will be either the chairman of the UNC ROTC
Alumni Association?s Scholarship Committee or her designee. The award is customarily presented at the UNC NROTC Alumni
Association Annual Meeting, held each Fall, usually on a home football game weekend. Payments are made directly to the
recipient, and are without restriction.
