Alumni Association Celebrates Its 11th Reunion
on October 6, 2001

The annual meeting of the UNC NROTC Alumni Association was held on Saturday, October 6, 2001 at the Naval Armory in Chapel Hill. A pig pickin' and cocktail party helped round out a wonderful day of patriotism and fellowship.

Despite the wet weather (which forced us to have the pig pickin' inside the Armory), the Tar Heel football team helped us celebrate by beating the Pirates from East Carolina University 24-21.

The guest of honor for this year's annual meeting was Travis Porter '53 from Durham, NC. The Distinguished Alumni Award was awarded to Porter, while Will Stubbs was recognized for his many years of service with the Alumni Association when he was presented with the Distinguished Service Award by Secretary Vicki Stephens.
